But there is more to life than Grammy Awards - Jay has also received other kinds of awards and recognition over the years. There are for instance many Gold and Platinum Albums hanging in his studio, although the walls at Garden Rake Studios cannot lodge them all.

So I have made a list of the gold and platinum awarded albums stating artists, titles, Jay's participation, certification dates etc.

Jay has received much acknowledgement and many awards of different kinds for his musical contributions, from a lot of different instances and organizations. Four of Jay's songs have for instance been presented with the BMI Pop Award and the following is a quote from my correspondance with BMI (Broadcast Music Inc.).

1979: "After the Love Has Gone"---This song received a BMI Pop Award at our annual Pop Awards Dinner in 1980 which honored the most performed Pop songs of 1979. This song has now received over 2 million US radio and TV feature performances (through 6/30/98).

1983: "Mornin'"---This song received a BMI Pop award at the awards dinner in 1984 which honored the most performed Pop songs of 1983. This song has now received over 1 million performances.

1985: "After All" and "Who's Holding Donna Now"---These songs received BMI Pop awards at the dinner in 1986 which honored the most performed Pop songs of 1985. These songs have each now received over 1 million performances.

Our awards are given to the songs which received the most US radio and TV feature performances during the award period. As mentioned, these songs are all over a million performances now. It may be interesting to note that when a song of an average length of 3 minutes reaches one million performances, it has been broadcast at least 50,000 hours, which equals more than 5.7 years of continuous airplay!

More appreciation for Jay's music and good vibes...
